Visiting Non-Degree Students
Interested in graduate courses with the Global Infectious Disease Program, but not quite ready to begin a degree?
Through the collaboration of the Georgetown School of Continuing Studies, GLID allows our students to enroll in up to 2 graduate-level courses without enrolling in a degree-seeking program.
Notable Deadlines
Individuals must submit all required registration components by the deadline of the semester they wish to enroll.
- Fall Semester Deadline: August 1
- Spring Semester Deadline: December 1
How to Enroll
- Review the Schedule of Classes maintained by the Registrar’s Office. Only courses at the 5000-Level of above are open to Visiting Students. Please note that some courses require the completion of pre-requisites, for questions on course pre-requities, please contact glid@georgetown.edu
- Complete your Registration Request Form. Only one course should appear on each request form. If you would like to request an additional course, please fill out an additional request form. This is important, as separate faculty and departmental approvals are required for each course. Each form will require you to submit the following required documents:
- Official undergraduate transcript showing degree, conferral date, and minimum cumulative GPA of 3.00
- all undergraduate institutions where 16 or more credits were earned
- Official Graduate transcript (if applicable) showing minimum cumulative GPA of 3.00
- all graduate institutions where any credit was earned
- TOEFL scores (if applicable) with a minimum score of 600 (paper-based test), 250 (computer-based test) or 100 (iBT)
- International transcript evaluation (if applicable) by either the World Education Services (wes.org) or the Educational Credential Evaluators (ece.org)
- Official undergraduate transcript showing degree, conferral date, and minimum cumulative GPA of 3.00
- Obtain the required departmental signatures for the requested course(s). For example, to request a Government course, you would contact the Government department. Contact information for each department can be found online through the Online Directory . Electronic signatures will be accepted. Faculty members and Department Chairs can also send a note indicating their approval via email directly to visitingndgd@georgetown.edu.
- Return your completed form(s) and official transcripts via email and have your institution(s) send official transcripts electronically to visitingndgd@georgetown.edu. You may also return your form to the address below by the deadline stated for each semester to allow adequate time for review.
